Within a simplified view of what the seventeen Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) determine, just as in Governance, IST has been discussing how it can, in fact, add transformative initiatives to the universe in which it interacts with its main direct and indirect stakeholders.

This narrative arises from the need to position itself as a differentiated company, concerned not only with exceptionally meeting the demands of its customers but also with contributing to the demands of a world in constant transformation, highly impacted by an unprecedented pandemic, by the presence of employees from distinct generations, with increasingly complex agendas and levels of tolerance difficult to measure on a single scale, just to illustrate a few examples.

For this purpose, a deeper study on the subject would be necessary, considering, for example, a call for stakeholder engagement, definition of materiality, and analysis of externalities, not to mention other initiatives, such as defining a reporting approach, even if simplified. But all of this can still wait for some time, while effective measures can be adopted by IST in this complex context.

Considering the characteristics and operational dynamics of Infinity, especially the points related to sustainability, logistics, and governance, it is possible to identify practical actions that align with the SDGs most relevant to the food and seafood sector.

CARBON FOOTPRINT AND OFFSETTING SDGs 12 and 13
Calculate emissions (transport and travel) and offset via certified carbon credits.

SUPPLIER CERTIFICATION SDGs 8 and 14
Adopt sustainable fishing criteria and prioritize certified suppliers.

INTERNAL ESG PROGRAM SDGs 4 and 12
Periodic ESG training and simplified annual sustainability reports.
